Kundapur, Jul 9: Well-known rationalist Admar Sripati Acharya warned that privatization of education, especially through religious organizations belonging to different religions, poses dangers in the long run. Propagators of religious conversions might misuse this opportunity, which may give rise to the ominous trend of destroying nation-building activities, he explained.
Asserting that building of a strong nation is the dire need of the hour, Acharya, addressing a seminar organized by taluk unit of Students Federation of India (SFI), lamented that providing compulsory education to all the citizens at least upto the fifth standard as envisaged in the constitution, has not been achieved because of lack of will power.
DYFI Udupi district unit deputy secretary Chandrashekhar took part in the seminar. SFI Udupi district president Raviraj Padukone presided. Joint secretary Sandesh V compered the programme. Rajguru welcomed the gathering.
