Mangalore: Cine Stars Bring Tinseltown Sheen to Janmashtami in City

Mangalore, Aug 24: Sri Krishna Janmashtami brought Bollywood and Sandalwood stars to the city on Sunday, August 24. Bollywood star Dhyan, renowned singer Naresh Aiyar, Sandalwood stars Yash, and Radhika Pandit, were here to participate in a music concert.
Speaking to media persons, they imparted interesting information about the film industry. Yash, who became famous after the release of Kannada movie ‘Moggina Manassu,’ opined that most viewers watch movies for entertainment. But movies have an impact on the mind of the viewer and hence, should give pass on some good message to the viewers, he said.
Speaking about senior artistes in the industry, he appreciated the punctuality and simplicity of Anant Nag. He compared the veteran actor to a film institution, and said that one can learn a lot from him.
Yash said that he was born and brought up in Mysore and is the son of a KSRTC bus driver. He wanted to join the film institute after his PUC. But his parents didn’t permit this and he had to pursue graduation. But he quit studies in a year and joined the film industry. The serial ‘Preethi Illada Mele’, telecast on ETV gave him wide publicity and brought him into movies, he added.
Dhyan, who acted in ‘Nanna Preetiya Hudugi’, and ‘Amruthadhare,’ opined that there is no depth in most Kannada movies. Though the state churns out a large number of movies, they lack quality, he added. Radhika Pandit, who acted in ‘Moggina Manassu’, and singer Naresh Aiyar, who has trained with A R Rehman, also shared their experiences with the media.
