Dogs maul girl to death in UP; 7th such incident in May

Sitapur, May 13 (PTI): A pack of dogs mauled a 12-year-old girl to death in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur, taking the toll in fatal attacks by feral hounds in the district to 13 in the last six months, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Maheshpur village under the Khairabad police station. This was the seventh such death this month, they said. District administration officials said that Khairabad area of the district was the "worst affected".

"A 12-year-old girl identified as Reena died today after being attacked by a pack of dogs," Superintendent of Police Anand Kulkarni said. The SP said the administration was tackling the menace and the number of dogs in packs was decreasing.

"Earlier they used to attack in pack of six to eight dogs. Now they are reduced to two or four," he said.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate Sheetal Verma, while elaborating upon the cases of dog attacks, said, "Of the 13 deaths due to dog attacks since November 2017, as many as 10 took place in Khairabad police station area."

"Three other cases which took place in the district, were reported from Imlia Sultanpur, Kotwali Sitapur and Taalgaon police station areas," Verma said.

Stray dogs have unleashed a reign of terror in Uttar Pradesh. The dogs so far claimed 6 lives in the last seven days in the area; Media reports say 12 children have been killed till date. The incident is reported from Sitapur, 80 km south-west of Lucknow, where stray dogs have started attacking children between the age group of 5 and 12 and have killed six children in last seven days. Stray dogs have killed 12 children to date in Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh alone which is not far from CM Yogi constituency.

CM Yogi in Honnavar canvassing for BJP candidate using one deceased 'Mesta'. By asking votes in his name he tried to polarise the voters to the maximum.
In the same time more than 100 deaths reported due to strong sand storm including Uttar Pradesh.
Like childrens died in hospital without basic health care facility like 'oxygen', now stray dogs are mauling childrens in his own state.

BJP invited CM Yogi to Karnataka for polarisation of vote bank. He was seeking votes in the name of 'Mesta' whose father himself says no connection with party. He has no values for his own citizens in Uttar Pradesh but in Karnataka spreading hate.
