Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 30: Karnataka chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, conducted his first public interaction with the people, 'Janaspandana' at his home office, 'Krishna' here on Tuesday May 29. There was rush for the programme where the chief minister received hundreds of petitions. Most of the requests were for reimbursement of medical expenses, employment, sanctioning of sites, financial assistance for building houses, and aid for higher education.

People came in droves from even far off districts like Bidar, Haveri, Davanagere, Mandya, Vijayapura and Kalaburagi. They explained about the woes they have been facing. Differently abled persons were given first preference. There were also requests seeking free entry into Vidhana Soudha for senior citizens.

In several cases, the chief minister directly called up deputy commissioners of the districts or top officials and instructed them to attend to the petitions. In other cases, he instructed his personal staff to address the issues mentioned.

The Janata Darshan was to begin at 10 am and people had come sufficiently early. It began three hours behind schedule. The people however were served with tea, buttermilk and biscuits by the chief minister's office.

The Government should focus on basic necessities i.e Food, clothing and shelter. This can be solved by various government existing schemes, as it has given separate categories like BPL and others which is existing. Here only proper monitoring should be done so that it reaches the desired people.

Above all the situation, employment is the main cause which government should focus. If at least 1 member of family is employed, he can take care of some of his necessities. Encourage farmers by giving good rates and educating them by using modern agriculture method and avoid purchasing from neighboring states and countries.

Social benefit scheme(pension) for non govt and other citizens should be introduced by Government to safe guard its future senior citizens, as this can lessen the burden of Govt in future and also comfort its citizen when they don't have enough savings to take care during their old age.

Very good HDK Sir. Really a good step, God bless. He is really down to earth in such situations. In the Past we had a CM who would just sleep around in the parliment when situations of floods , rapes etc were discussed. Ktaka is lucky to have JDS ruling them with HDK as the CM.

'Flood of petitions' is the clear indication that how unsuccessful the previous government was.
If Sidhu had done his work without corruption, people would have been happy and Kumaraswamy's Janatha darshan might have run empty!

    Ivar,

Let Modi step out of the podium without his security, you will know how many grievances will come from his own followers.

It takes humility to get down and reach out to people, not arrogance to roar from a raised platform as your Chowkidaar displays !

In no way I have demeaned Kumaraswamy's move. It is just that you have not read my comment. That's all I can infer from your comment.

You have not demeaned Kurmarswamy's, but the previous government's performance. Let Modi too reach out to people, you will understand the satisfaction level in people about even the running central government. Not, others, his own people gathered (Modi) around him to cheer him will show you their feelings.

Seems like he will be a CM of a different kind. Guess he has changed his working style. Not the Kumarswamy of early years. Hope that means its good for Karnataka.
