Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 31: For the five seats in Legislative Council for which it is eligible, BJP has chosen candidates. It announced its list of candidates on the evening of Wednesday May 30.

Current MLC Raghunathrao Malkapure, state general secretary of the party N Ravikumar, former MP Tejaswini Gowda, state vice president of the party K P Nanjundi, and Shivamogga district BJP president, Rudre Gowda, are the five candidates chosen by the party. All of them will get elected as BJP is assured of five seats.

Among them, Malkapure, who belongs to Kuruba community and hails from Bidar district, and who has served the party sincerely in various capacities, happens to be the only one to get opportunity to enter the council again. He also has close connection with Sangh Parivar. All the others are new entrants.

K P Nanjundi and Tejaswini Gowda

Ravikumar, who was all India leader of Akhil Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishad, is close to Yeddyurappa and has been involved with organization of the party since the last two years. Tejaswini Gowda is a former Congress MP and joint spokesperson of the party. Although she had wanted to fight assembly election, she could not get a suitable constituency.

K P Nanjundi, who recently deserted Congress to join BJP, after Congress failed to offer MLC seat to him, has been involved with the organization of Vishwakarma community. Rudre Gowda had fought as KJP candidate from Shivamogga city in 2013 as KJP candidate and pushed Eshwarappa of BJP to third place. He was assured of ticket to Legislative Council before the assembly election was announced.

For MLC elections, all party's MLA's and MP's get to vote, in addition to select voter bank created by the Assembly. If you may want to, get Kumaraswamy to introduce EVMs here too.

    Rischard Sirva,

Corrupt feku, Balatkar Janata party supporter. Please read todays result at R R Nagar Bangalore and todays assembly seat results.

Out of 11 assembly seat election results, Congress won 4 seats and BJP won only 1 seat. Now tell me, who has to shut the business. For BJP, it is business and for us, the Congress supporter, it is Nation building and true development. Not taking credit of the hard work of others.
