Udupi, Jun 1: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math on Friday June 1 said that political parties trying to poach people’s representatives through backdoor politics such as 'Operation Kamala' or resort politics were unethical in a democracy.
Addressing a press meet at Math premises on June 1, Swamiji said, "As the state has witnessed hung assembly, all parties must come together and form the government. The model of all-party government which is there in England must be introduced here too so that development is not hindered."
Commenting on the completion of four years of PM Modi-led central government, Pejawar Swamiji said that he was not satisfied with the present government which has 'failed to fulfill promises made before elections'.
"The promises of bringing back black money, cleaning river Ganga remain unfulfilled. Indian economy is better due to a few key decisions such as note ban and GST. But the central government has completely failed in bringing reforms in favour of the farmers who are the backbone of the country. Hence the government at least should implement schemes for the farmers in the remaining one year of its tenure. Ganga cleaning and building Ram Mandir should be the top priority of the government. More than 20 Muslim religious heads have supported building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
"The BJP-led NDA government has suffered setback in the by polls across the country since the Opposition is united,| he added.
Reacting to whether he would organize Iftar at the Sri Krishna Math premises which created a stir last year, he said that if Muslim leaders came forward he was ready to organize it this year too. "I respect people from every religion but whenever something goes against Hindu religion I have protested. I urge every religion to be given equal recognition as espoused in the Indian Constitution."
"A research centre on Vedic education is coming up in New Delhi. Also, Sri Madhwacharya's works are getting translated into Hindi. The research work on these books and Veda puranas, Upanishads will begin in June.
"In Mathura one and half acres of land belonging to Krishna Math has been encroached. I have spoken to UP CM Yogi Adityanath in this regard," he added.
