Mangaluru, Jun 4: Calling the Congress-JD(S) government in the state as an ‘unholy’ coalition, BJP state general secretary C T Ravi on Monday, June 4 termed the Congress a ‘stale’ party and said that JD(S) is a ‘power-hungry’ party.
Addressing media here he said, “Voters in the coastal belt blessed our party to gain seven seats in the district. Out of 224, we won 104 seats, but did not get the expected numbers in five B’s that is Bengaluru, Bijapur, Bellary, Belgaum and Bidar, due to which we could not get the majority,"
“Despite all opposition from the people of the state, Congress and JD(S) have formed an ‘unholy’ coalition. Congress is a stale party while JD(S) is a party hungry for power. Congress, JD(S) and other political parties have ‘Modi fever’ which have made them come together. Like the two nations namely Pakistan and China, who fear Modi, all these political parties including Congress, JD(S), and Samajwadi Party want Modi to be on the losing side in the year 2019. Thoughts of Pakistan and that of these parties are the same," he added.
“A conspiracy is being hatched globally as well as by other parties to stop Narendra Modi from becoming the prime minister in 2019 as India will become more powerful under him. Modi only can bring a permanent end to these political parties. We are confident that people will support Modi in strengthening the nation in 2019," he said.
“Prior to Gujarat elections, there were protests, and campaigns in the name of caste, Dalits, and backward classes. But after elections, these protesters went on leave. Now in the name of farmers, these protests by criminal minded Congress have shifted to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh," he alleged.
“People have given us unconditional support in the Teachers’-Graduates’ constituencies. This time too, people will support BJP in the MLC elections. Congress and JD(S) will make use of money power. There is some information that they have booked principals to distribute money to teachers. We have brought this to the notice of the Election Commission,” he said.
When queried about the Hussainabba case, C T Ravi said, “BJP never supports murderers and never takes law into its hands. We also do not support illegal activities. Let the police conduct investigation and take stringent action against the culprits.”
BJP district vice-president Capt Brijesh Chowta, leaders Ravishankar Mijar, Kishore and others were present.
