UAE: 'Voice Workshop' for Amateur, Experienced and Professional Singers

Dubai, Sep 25: A voice workshop for singers on learning the art of healthy singing will be organized by Ferarties-UAE on the 24th of October, 2008 (Friday) between 11:30 am and 3.30 pm at “Four Points Sheraton” Bank street, Dubai. The workshop is being sponsored by M/s. Integrated Freight & Logistics LLC, Dubai and presented by Jossie Moras, a Voice Coach, Music Educator and Choral Director.
This enjoyable and highly participatory more than two hours workshop is designed to help you find your own voice and learn to project it with ease and confidence. You may be new to singing or you may be a singer who wishes to develop greater confidence. In a fun and supportive atmosphere you will have the opportunity to experiment with your “voice”. In this workshop you will be able to know about techniques used in developing a healthy, effortless and efficient way of singing. By learning to project your voice and sing from the heart you will be able to find your inner voice with which you will be able to move and attract your audience.
Jossie Moras
In this workshop, you will be taught techniques which will certainly allow you to sing in a safe and effective manner, increase flexibility, strength and range of your voice focusing on smooth transitions from low to high parts of the voice without any audible change in quality says Jossie Moras, a voice/singing professional with more than 17 years of experience as a singer, Teacher and Choral Director. He studied music with professional Teachers and got himself qualified with a Licentiate Diploma (LTCL) in singing from the Trinity College of London, scoring distinction marks. Presently, he works as a professional Voice Coach and Music Educator in Dubai. He trains children, youth and adult choirs belonging to various communities in the city. In addition to his profession as a singing specialist and Music Educator, he conducts voice workshops, singing master classes and gives voice training for singers, speakers, RJ’s and actors.
Vincent Pereira, President of “Ferarites-UAE” in a press release to media said by arranging this workshop, many budding as well as experienced singers will get an opportunity to tune up their voice and learn the art of singing from their heart.
This large scale workshop being organized by “Ferarites-UAE” is showcased to be unique and first of its kind in U.A.E. Since, these kinds of workshops are rarely held in this region, we are anticipating good response from participants from all over UAE; therefore, entry is limited to “Konkani speaking Community” only. In the future, there may be a possibility of holding a separate workshop for children only.
Vincent Pereira, further elaborated that we wouldn’t have been able to plan this workshop without the full support and assurance of Mr Lancy Madtha of M/s Integrated Freight & Logistics LLC, Dubai who himself is a singer and an active co-ordinator of St.Mary’s Konkani Choir, Dubai. This project is a brainchild of Lancy, who felt the need to have more number of quality and professional singers in “Konkani speaking Community”
The last date for registration is 10th October, 2008
Eligibility:
- Limited to Konkani Speaking Community only
- Age criteria: 16 years and above only (children not allowed)
- Entry to the venue is restricted to participants only.
- Entry are limited to maximum 150 participants on first come first serve basis.
- Buffet lunch will be served for all participants free of charge.
On the day of workshop, participants should report to the registration desk latest by 11.00 am. All participants are requested to come with :-
(a) Words/music of any song (optional)
(b) Comfortable clothing – as you will be taught some physical exercises required for healthy singing.
