Mangalore: Gaiety Marks Eid-Ul-Fitr Celebrations in City

Mangalore, Oct 1: Eid-Ul-Fitr was celebrated with pomp and devotion across the district on Wednesday October 1. Muslim brethren, who observed 30 days of rigorous fast, were seen going to the mosques, offering prayers in large numbers. Children and elders, clothed in new dress were busy wishing each other and conveying wishes of peace and love to all.
Derlakatte unit of South Karnataka Salafi Movement organized Eid-Ul-Fitr at the City Ground there on Wednesday morning in an environment filled with festive mood. Khateeb of Malar Salafi Masjid Ibrahim Moulavi rendered Qutuba. Hundreds of faithfuls including women took part in the Eid Namaaz.
Salafi Movement's central board secretary Ismail Shaffi coordinated the programme. Belma gram panchayat president Usmal Axa, zilla panchayat member Aziz Malar and many other dignitaries took part in the function.
