Bengaluru: Private doctors all over India to strike work on July 28

Bengaluru, Jul 28: Opposing the proposed National Medical Commission Bill, which the central government proposes to move, Indian Medical Association has given a call for nation-wide strike today, July 28.

2.15 lac private doctors from all over the country will support the agitation by staying away from work the entire day today.

In Karnataka too, as part of the strike, private doctors will not attend out-patient departments from 6 am to 6 pm on Saturday July 28. However, they have decided to provide emergency treatment and service to inpatients. Outpatient services would be available from 6 pm onward.

In the background of strike by private doctors at the behest of Indian Medical Association, the additional secretary in health and family welfare department at the Centre has asked the doctors serving the government hospitals to ensure that there is no lacuna in the medical services being provided to the people today. As such, government doctors will not get any holiday today.

    Every week they should go on strike so that mortality comes down. In many countries when doctors went on strike, the death rate came down.

    With out giving bills by private doctors,they hide their income and their CA will show only limited income . On that amount they pay tax.

    going on strike seems to be the only language that present Govt organisations seem to understand. If only the institutions go back to dialog and discussions rather than issue suo-moto commands, life will be harmonious for all concerned.

    They do pay, for a negligible amount of theie earnings.
    Even now, most of the hospitals do not provide bills for 'doctor's charges!!!
