Mangaluru, Sep 12: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great solemnity and cheerfulness at Carmel School recently. The student council assisted by the students of class VI, sections B and C, put up a fabulous show for the occasion.

As the faculty entered the portal of the school, they were led by the students into a magical world. To select the king and queen of the mysterious world, the teachers were divided into five teams and played a game of treasure hunt. The winners Mable and Mahesh were chosen as Carmel King and Queen who presided over the day’s programme.

The teachers then experienced nature to its fullest as they were greeted with graceful tribal dance. The teachers then entered the land of fun where spot games were conducted. This followed a cultural fiesta by class 6 sections B and C. The programme consisted of foot tapping songs, colourful folk and western dances, skits that enthralled the teachers left them spell-bound. The students presented gifts, as a token of respect to their teachers. It concluded with a ‘thank you note’ delivered by Disha. Sr Sarika, the principal, extended her thanks to all students on behalf of the faculty and also prized the successful co-ordination of the school cabinet under the leadership of Calida Lobo.
