Mangaluru, Dec 19: Jamiyattul Falah (Unity for Success), a state government award winning charity organization in association with DK Zilla Panchayat Public Education Department conducted a teachers meet with Dakshina Kannada district schools to improve and enhance the result in the forthcoming SSLC board examination on Monday December 17 at Jamiyyatul Falah headquarters auditorium, near Rahmaniya Masjid, Kankanady.
The event started with a rhyme recital by Hamza Mittur. JF DK and Udupi district president Shahul Hameed K K inaugurated and welcomed the large gathering. He stressed on the priority to improve the SSLC result especially among the backward class by giving utmost importance to studies and convincing the students who are studying in SSLC to give priority to the final exams keeping aside their other activities in order to perform well in the preparatory and final exams. A total of 203 teachers were present at the meeting from 104 schools.
Deputy director of Public Instruction (DDPI) Sivaramayya, illustrated the pass percentage of minority students with statistics and informed all the teachers to get charged to bring good result in DK. Teachers from various schools spoke in the event and expressed their hindrance in a few of the areas to be improved.
Many teachers gave their opinion on how to improve the upcoming SSLC results. JFCC treasurer Ibrahim Kodijal, general secretary Saleem Handel, V P Abu Mohammed, administrator Shameer Ahmed Kudroli and JFCC executive members were present to witness the beneficial programme.
Following are the concerns from some of the teachers for the Muslim minority students:
1. Postponement of madarasa exam timing so that the students get more time for their school exam studies
2. Avoid floodlight matches and tournaments which sometime end up at 1.00 am during the time of examination or three months prior to the examination date
3. Avoid SSLC students’ involvement from religious activities which end up late at night
4. Imam (masjid head) of each jamath (vicinity) shall take the initiative and encourage the students to concentrate on their studies for better results
5. Each school teacher must give special attention to the minority students so that they can get good grades in the upcoming SSLC Exams
Toward the end, suggestions were taken from the teachers to overcome the hindrance and improve the results.
Jamiyyatul Falah has provided a platform to improve and encourage the backward minority students to take more interest in their studies. This initiative was well appreciated by district education department. JF was well praised for their contribution in the field of education and health sector.
