Mangaluru: ‘Know your Rights’ workshop held at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru, Jan 30: “Rights and Duties of the citizens must go hand in hand,” Uma Prashant, deputy police commissioner (Crime & Traffic) of Mangaluru while inaugurating the workshop ‘Know your Rights’ at St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru.

St Aloysius College (Autonomous) organised this workshop as a part of the Constitution week long celebration in the college. She suggested the students not to go for temporary pleasures but to aim high and reach that goal. She urged the students to make use of the resources available in this college when many others do not get it. She also appreciated the College for taking such an initiative of making students to understand constitution by observing constitution week.



Fr Dr Praveen Martis, principal of the college said that Fr Jerome D’Souza, a Jesuit priest also was a member of the constituent assembly to prepare Indian Constitution. It is a pride for St Aloysius College which is run by the Jesuits. College wants its students to know their basic rights and fight for the rights of others too.

Dr Vishanz Pinto coordinator of the programme welcomed the gathering and Shakin Raj convenor of the programme thanked the gathering. Niriksha compered the programme.
