New Delhi: KCA offers special Eucharist for late George Fernandes

New Delhi, Feb 9: Kanara Cultural Association Delhi (KCA) recently offered a special Eucharist for the soul of late George Fernandes at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Gole DakKhana, here.

The service began with a short introduction. Bennet Pinto read a brief biography of late George Fernandes giving a glimpse of his childhood, different roles he played as a student leader, youth activist and union leader. He also spoke about his dedication, service to the nation and the state of Karnataka especially for Mangaluru city where he was born.

After the mass, special prayers were offered by Dr Anil Couto, archbishop of Delhi, Dr Vincent Concessao, emeritus Archbishop of Delhi along with former vicar general Fr Victor D’Souza and Fr Vijay Baretto.



Pius Montero thanked the archbishops and all the participants. He acknowledged the presence of Suman Kurade, president of Goenkaranchoekvot and Tulu Kuta members. KCA is grateful to Maurice Almeida and all the KCA members for the arrangements. A floral tribute was offered starting from Archbishop Anil Couto, Vincent Menezes, KCA president, Suman Kurade and other dignitaries.
