Over a hundred breed of dogs contested in various categories that included the best puppy, best pedigree , happiest dog, fancy dress and dog most like owner.

The K9 friends club also made their presence felt at the show. It is a common thing for UAE expatriates to abandon their pets during relocation as transportation of pets is a costly affair.

There were dogs everywhere for every dog lover to feast his eyes on and to pet them. The breeds varied from the rare Afghan Hound to the most common Pomeranians. Among others were the Dachshunds, Norwegian Elkhound, Bullmastiff, Doberman, German Shepherd, St Bernard, Cocker Spaniel, Golden retriever, Bulldog, Dalmatian, Poodle, Fox Terrier, Swedish Lapphund, Chihuahua and Pekingese.

The most fascinating show was the performance by the police dogs of Dubai and Abu Dhabi police department.  The highly trained dogs performed marvelous feats from jumping displays, obedience, fetch, smelling out drugs and weapons from suitcases, attacking get away criminals on vehicles. On the lighter side the police dogs matched up with a group of little children on a tug-of-war game and won it.

For all dog lovers, we present to you an album of the best dogs of  the UAE.

Sometimes we  have to think whether humans are great than animals ?  On the one hand humans are dying of hunger and humans are killed by humans for various reasons . But the same humans like animals at any cost . They are even ready to call his fellow human being living in slums as Slum Dog to get great awards !! Sorry folks dont count me as a animal hater. I love human beings more than animals .

Great pictures & good report. Thanks to Daijiworld. I was living in Dubai along with my family few years back, that time we had been there for 3 times when similar show was arranged. For our rememberance I have all photos & video of the show. But this time I really missed this. By viewing the pictures I refreshed my memories. Thanks to the organizers.
