Panaji, Apr 5: Congress condemned BJP MP Shripad Naik on the release of a report card on Naik’s utilisation of MPLAD funds. Most of the Ayush projects were not able to provide significant benefit to residents of the state.
Congress said that after serving as MP for 20 years what Naik could probably receive was anti-incumbency and a hostile reception while campaigning.
Regarding this Congress spokesperson Amarnath Panjikar said, “Has Naik ever opened a hospital or even a clinic in Goa where Goans get jobs?”
“Unemployed youth and mining dependents heckle him and villagers constantly question him on the promises he made the last time?” Panjikar said.
“Naik had earlier held the culture portfolio along with the tourism ministry for a brief period and why is it not there now? Is it because Modi did not trust him or because he could not perform efficiently? We do not know,” Panjikar added.
Congress also set aside BJP on a quest for not releasing a manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
