Mangaluru, Dec 4: Mount Carmel Central School organized a Career Guidance programme for the students of Class X on December 3.
Principal, Sr Melissa introduced the resource person, Patrick Braggs to the students. He began the session by interacting with the students and made them aware of the common trend among the present generation of following the crowd blindly in choosing one's career for life. He informed them about the new possibilities and challenging new jobs which are less sought out by students due to lack of awareness. He then asked the students to share their aim and aspiration in life in choosing a career. He told them to be cautious in choosing their career and that successful people have two important things in view - attitude and gratitude. He urged the students to focus on these two values to be successful in life.
Later, he conducted an aptitude test for them. They were asked to be sincere in answering all the questions as it would give them a clear picture of their abilities and interests.
Carol, a student of X A felt that it gave her a clear fresh perspective on different streams of studies.
Arundhati of X C said that it cleared many doubts she had about her future choice of career.
Nishmitha of X B expressed that the test helped her to identify her strong suits.
