Mangaluru, Dec 18: Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha urged people and organisations to express their opinions regard to Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) within the boundaries of law and order.

Addressing media here on Wednesday, December 18, police commissioner Dr P S Harsha said, "Since the implementation of CAA, there has been widespread protests all over the country. Those who want to express their opinions in form of protests or rallies, can apply for the same at the police station and seek permission.

So far, we have got six to seven applications for which law and order assessment was done and permission was given to hold protest. Two days ago, we have detained 38 activists for protesting and violating Karnataka Police Act as no permission was sought for the protest.

“On social media, several messages are being spread to gather in large numbers for rally and protest against CAA on December 20 and 23. But with regard to the same, we have not received any application requesting permission to organise protests. We have approached the concerned persons such as Khazi for the planned protest, the news of which is being spread on social media. He has clarified that no such programmes are planned as of now.

"If anyone wants to protest, they have to apply and we will specify certain conditions and assess law and order. With regards to protests on December 20 and 23, if someone spreads such rumours and provokes people to join the protest, stringent action will be taken against such individuals or groups,” he said.

This is a movement to protect India from CAA. Democracy held at ransom by not allowing peaceful protests.

What the SP says is right, vut at the same time should apply to all. What about Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. He has been inciting and provoking the sentiments of the Muslim community, through his utterly nonsense enctment of babri masjid demolition. The students of today have been brainfed hatered and action should be taken against the ones doing this.
