Mangalore: Breaking Up is Hard to Do Brings Home Opera Feel

Mangalore, Sep 13: A huge gathering witnessed a rare and glamorous musical comedy show- Breaking up is hard to do organized by Cause Foundation at Town Hall here on Saturday September 12. 

The venue in the city was fully-packed with enthusiastic art lovers who thoroughly enjoyed the musical show giving a feeling of an enjoyment one gets on watching an opera in a theatre in London. 

The show directed by Leila Alvares, president of the foundation, captivated the audience with the eye-catching pleasant dance numbers that were attractively choreographed. The show with flawless music and acting heightened and sustained audience’s interest till the end. The musical numbers such as ‘O Carrel, Stupid cupid and Breaking up is hard to do enamoured the music lovers. The comic sequences too had audiences in split.

































 
The talented cast included Jude Lazaro, Meghana Dhawan, Neville De Nazareth, Christina D’Souza, Aravind Kasturi, Priyanka Krishnan and Prem Koshy. Vivek Menzel was the music director and Praveen Roberts, Lucien Charanghat and Lionel D Nazareth were the choreographers. Praveen Roberts, Lionel D Nazareth, John Fernadez, Elexer Fernandes, Lynn Bout, Alisha D’Souza, Devika Thyagaraj and Karen Lobo performed dance numbers. Perl Kadam (Bass) Robin Colaco (lead) Premila Roberts (Piano) Jason Zakariach (keyboard) and Vivek Menzel (percussion and drums) accompanied the band.  

Cause Foundation, a non-profit organization, presented cheques, which was distributed by Alvares to social service organizations, Prem Chaya, the animal care centre and scholarship donation to School of Social Work, Roshani Nilaya.
