Mangaluru: Karnataka government needs to clarify why ex-gratia was withdrawn - U T Khader

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Dec 26: MLA U T Khader demanded a clarification from Karnataka government and CM B S Yediyurappa over backtracking on his earlier announcement of ex-gratia to the families of the two people who died in the recent anti-CAA protest in Mangaluru.

Addressing media here on Thursday, December 26, U T Khader said," Chief Minister Yediyurappa had announced Rs 10 lac compensation to the families of the deceased in Mangaluru violence. After two days, chief minister withdrew the compensation. The state government needs to clarify on why was the compensation announced and then withdrawn. This is an insult to the families of the deceased.”

He also said," Earlier during the BJP tenure, the family of the deceased in Mulky golibar was awarded compensation. Why government is creating so much confusion? Don’t they want people to come out of the incident? Such incidents should not occur again. District-in-charge minister should call for a peace meeting.”

"NRC will not be implemented. According to our constitution, two third of the majority in the state, needs to agree with the Act. Many states are not agreeing for the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act,” Khader said.

"Chief Minister Yediyurappa needs to apologize for withdrawal of the compensation. Even during the church attack, they defended the incident. So we demand judicial enquiry into the case," Khader said.

When asked about C T Ravi's statement on need of a law to recover damages from the protesters, Khader said," C T Ravi is from Chikkamagaluru and it is not necessary for him to speak in Mangaluru. It is better if people from outside the district not speak. Let him leave our district alone.”

The video clips speaks for itself. The ex-gratia is just held back till the beneficiaries are proved to be innocent.

Does anyone be announced culprit or innocent without enquiry? I hope this will be the answer for Khader. Let them do the enquiry if proved innocent they will get 10 lacks. and I hope innocent people don't wear mask and come to road when stone pelting is going on.

Sidda lost all elections, interferes in DK politics repeatedly. Is that fine with you? At least CT Ravi is the elected member and has won election. Look at the video and it's choreographed by opposition party. Is the unrest created by you just to pay the ex-gratia payment? you have no value for human life. Comeon Kader Bhai. This is inhuman behavior.

When the govt got the proof that they were involved in the violence, govt will definitely take it back. He is the one who was changing the CCTV direction before violence. Good decision by Karnataka Government.
