Beltangady: 'Devotion Alone Can Appease God,' Says Dharmapalanatha Swamiji

Beltangady, Oct 7: "When we are able to exercise total control over our minds and sensory organs, we can easily transform ourselves into sincere servants of the Lord. The Lord does not look for anything else from us, except devotion," said Mangalore branch head of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Sri Dharmapalanath Swamiji. He was delivering the benedictory address on the occasion of the valedictory ceremony of the 11th annual Bhajans chanting workshop, held on the night of Tuesday October 6, at Amrutavarshini auditorium in Dharmastala near here.
Sri Mohandasa Swamiji of Manila Sridhama hailed Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari, for his society-centric concerns. Music and dance critic, Mysore V Subrahmanya, asked every participant of the workshop to at least train a few people in chanting of Bhajans, so that people will be able to learn to see the Lord in every other individual, and thereby, spread love, respect and affection and live together harmoniously.
Hemavati V Heggade presided. MLA Vasant Bangera, Ujire Sri Janardana Swami Temple managing trustee Vijayaraghava Padvetnaya, Savitri Subrahmanya, Nischal and Shankar Shanbhogue were present.
On this occasion, a 'Bhajanotsava' was conducted with the participation of 2,020 persons belonging to 145 Bhajans troupes from all over the state. Three styles of Bhajans chanting, i.e., in sitting position, standing and dancing, were presented. During the seven-day training, 160 participants from 80 Bhajans troupes took part.
