Karwar: Western Institute of Technology Mangalore for North Kanara Flood Victims’ Aid

Karwar, Oct 23: Western Institute of Technology, Mangalore contributed flood relief aid worth Rs 1.25 lac for the homeless victims of recent floods in north Karnataka. A student-team of Institute too visited the flood affected regions Chandia village, here in North Kanara district.  

The torrential rains and devastating floods caused havoc on predominantly farming community. The Institute has sent around 55 students to the village in the aftermath of flood fury mainly to develop humanitarian virtues among its students by understanding the plight of flood victims and lesser fortunate in the society. The group of students visited over 250 families of flood victims, spent a few days with them and also supplied them with life essentials.






























Western Institute of Technology, Mangalore has been acclaimed for professional courses aimed at youth and also engaged in humanitarian tasks and social concerns. The students said that they witnessed the plight of flood victims and also humanitarian deeds they undertook gave them happiness. Western Institute of Technology chief Stephen Mendes led the group.
