M'lore: RJ Avinash Achieves 92.7 Hrs Marathon with Kushi Express on Big 92.7 FM

Mangalore, Jan 1: Avinash, Radio Jockey of Big 92.7 FM radio channel in the city, has achieved a rare record by being on air for a marathon 92.7 hours in presenting ‘Kushi Express’, to wish the listeners a happy new year, backed by the concept of humour and to spread happiness.
The airing of the show, ‘Kushi Express’ was started on December 27, 2009 at 7 am, and continued till midnight 12 o’clock on the same day. The programme continued to be aired at these hours every day till December 30. On December 31 he hosted the show for 24.7 hours continuously, by starting at 7 am that day and ending at 7. 07 am on Friday, January 1.
Spreading happiness was the main theme of the show and RJ Avinash anchored the show, interspersing the same with jokes and comic pieces. A number of callers shared their happy moments and the real comic incidents they came across in their real life.
Film star Ramesh, comedy actor, Karibasavayya, Sandalwood-Bollywood star Sachin Suvarna and cine comedian, Sandhya Shenoy, were the celebrities who came over the phone line with Avinash and wished the listeners.
Walter Nandalike, editor in chief of Daijiworld.com and ace photographer, Dayanand Kukkaje were among the guests present at the Big FM studio during the airing of ‘Kushi Express’ for nearly an hour each, and their interview was also aired as part of marathon show.
Avinash said that a number of listeners called in, interacted and shared their opinions with him. He recalled that a patient from a hospital in the city, who was enjoying ‘Kushi Express’, called him and expressed happiness over the concept of humour.
RJ Avinash, who happens to be a blood and eye donor, also spread the message of the importance of donating blood and eyes, during his show.
The unique concept of ‘Kushi Express’ introduced by Big FM in India is also new and unique in the field of Radio channel.
“The show got overwhelming response and was fantastic. I thank the listeners for their wonderful support,” said Avinash.
After receiving good response from the listeners for his second marathon, first of which was conducted on the theme of environment, Avinash said that Big FM Mangalore station head, Capt Hemanth Ponnappa, extended wholehearted support and encouragement in enabling him to achieve this feat, and also acknowledged the support of colleagues, RJ Manjushree and RJ Raj.
