Two new containment zones in South Delhi


New Delhi, May 20 (IANS): Two areas of Zamrudpur and Dakshin Puri in the South District of the national capital have been marked as containment zones, according to the authorities on Wednesday.

In Zamrudpur, coronavirus cases were reported at 90C and 64C. In Dakshin Puri, from house number 306 to 379 on the main street of F block have been declared the containment zone and blocked, following reports of Covid-19 cases at F-375.

The administration has also passed a slew of guidelines, like proper barricading and 24X7 deployment of local police/CAPF. There should be only one entry and exist point to the area.

"No unauthorised person should be allowed under any circumstances in the containment area. Movement of traffic and people in the buffer zone will be strictly regulated," the order said.

Shops would be opened/closed as per the orders issued from time to time in this regard by the state government, it said.

In the national capital, 10,500 Covid-19 cases have been reported. Of this, 4,750 have recovered and 168 lost their lives.
