Dubai, Jul 3: Konkan Yuva in association with YAM (Young Adults Ministry) has announced that expert speakers would be sharing insider knowledge with UAE residents or expats seeking a new career on Friday July 3 at 5:00 pm.
The Konkan Yuva (Youth group of Mangalorean community) in collaboration with YAM (Young Adults Ministry) took up this initiative to conduct a free session titled 'The Future of Employment in 2020 and Beyond' for job seekers and those considering a career progression. The opportunity is open to all as anyone can join the free session and benefit from the programme.
The sessions would focus on aspects such as:
How to plan your job search strategy?
How to get yourself noticed by prospective employers in the UAE?
How to create the first impression?
How to shine in an interview?
Experts in the field of talent acquisition and management, Avil Pinto and Valencia will be serving as speakers for the sessions.
Avil Pinto is a motivational speaker, trainer, vlogger with over 150 FB live videos which have crossing over 500,000 views. He also holds a leadership role as a president of Arabian Dreams Toastmasters Club. He has over 14 years of diverse experience in HR, Supply Chain, Sales and Operations across Banking, Hospitality and FMCG sectors. Avil is currently serving as the logistics account manager, Middle East Operations at Friesland Campina (Rainbow Milk).
Avil's inherent love in helping people to unleash their true potential has resulted in him founding Dubai Jobs Hunt, a voluntary group on Facebook, where he conducts sessions for people who seek to thrive in their life and career.
The second speaker, Valencia, is a passionate recruiter and for whom recruitment is more than just a job. After witnessing both her parents losing their jobs and struggling during her childhood, Valencia took on recruitment as a career to help people with one thought, ‘no child should see their parents struggle’. She has been in the field of recruitment since 2008 and has since never looked back.
Valencia has been in the Middle East all her life and has worked with some major players in the market like Alshaya, Alsayer (Toyota & Lexus), OSN and Bateel. Her exposure in recruitment is spread over various sectors like retail, F&B, automotive, FMCG and real estate.
During her tenure, she has viewed several CVs and matched over 1,000 professionals (blue and white-collar alike) to potential opportunities within MENA and the UK. She has also worked with various ATS’s and has a few tricks up her sleeve which could help in creating a compelling ATS friendly CV.
She is a meticulous person with great attention to detail with an added passion to help. Having acquired the CIPD qualification she was motivated to venture into a start-up ‘TYPACV’ where she creates great profiles and a digital presence for every job seeker. She has been turning profiles around for several people since 2018.
