Mangalore: Non- Motorable Road Causes Accident near Pumpwell

Mangalore, Mar 20:
  The negligence shown in executing the road repairing works by the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) gave rise to an accident near Capitanio II Cross Road, near Pumpwell Circle here, on the night of Friday March 19.
 
The accident occurred, when a car hit a compound wall, because of the bad condition of the Capitanio II Cross Road. The car hit a compound in a slope, where the road is in very bad condition. The driver lost control over his vehicle, when he was trying to avoid the potholes on the road. The car overturned in the mishap.    

 


 
The inmates of the car, Ratnasabha Shetty, who was driving the car, and his wife, escaped without injuries, miraculously.
 
The compound wall, which was hit by the car, and another car parked on the other side of the compound wall, were also damaged in the incident. 
 
A local resident, Hiranya, said that the bad condition of the road was the reason for this accident. All the residents of the area have been asking the City Corporation for conducting repair works, and several memorandums were submitted for the same, he said, adding, “we have received a reply from MCC about their plan to take up the work and that funds have been reserved for the same. But the work has not started so far.”
 
He urged MCC to start road repairing work soon, before the citizens suffer several such incidents.

Owner of the car, Ratnasabha Shetty, has filed a complaint with the police station, briefing about the incident.
