Mangalore: Shaikuna Twaka Ahmed Musliyar takes charge as Kazi of DK

Mangalore, Mar 20: Shaikuna Twaka Ahmed Musliyar took charge as the Kazi of Dakshina Kannada district at a function held here at Zeenath Bhaksh Central Juma Masjid in Bunder on Saturday March 20.
Saiyyed Haiderali Shihab Thangal Panakkad, kazi of Pattikad appointed Twaka Ahmed Musliyar as kazi of Dakshina Kannada (Mangalore) with appropriate religious rituals, in the name of God.
Speaking after taking over as the new kazi, Twaka Ahmed Musliyar said that Muslims, being a minority community should contribute through valuable services to the society for its betterment. The Muslim community itself is peace-loving and tolerant and prefers to have cordial relationship with other communities. He also added that some adjustments with other communities will go a long way in creating a better society to live in.
“The holy book Koran directs us to lead our life and achieve our goal justly. To fulfill the same we need to understand what the prophet has told to mankind. The religious life of a human being leads him to get a model status in society and remembered after him, he added.
To begin with Abdulla Kunhi, chairman of Zeenath Bhaksh Masjid Committee, welcomed the gathering. T K M Bawa Musliyar, assistant kazi of Kasargod district presided over the function. MLA U T Khader, Former MLC KSM Masood, Zeenath Bhaksh Masjid committee office-bearers Yenapoya Mahammad Kunhi, S M Rasheed and former mayor Ashraf K among others were present.
The religious leaders from various parts of Mangalore and Kasargod also witnessed the ceremony.
Saiyyed Haiderali Shihab Thangal Panakkad laid foundation stone for the forthcoming project of starting an Arabic college at Central Juma Masjid, which will help pursue religious studies pertaining to Islam.
