Kaup, Sep 16: A case has been registered in Kaup police station against five people for breaking the door of a mosque here to pray while defying coronavirus regulations.
Accused Rashid, Jaleel, Bashir Janapriya, Bashir Karnataka hotel and Ashraf were objecting all along to the Covid regulations of the government and the Waqf Board. The accused men on September 11 had stated that they cannot follow the Covid regulations any longer. “We will perform Namaz them. Stop us if you can.”
They broke open the lock of Darga at 7.15 pm on September 14, entered the mosque illegally, prayed and posed death threats to Jamia Masjid Committee vice president Hamza and Jamia Masjid Committee members.
A police case has been registered - No 99/2020 Section 269, 427, 448, 506 together with IPC Section 149 in Kaup police station on the basis of a complaint filed by Ameer Hamza, resident of Uliyaragoli, Kaup, vice president of Polipu Jamia Masjid Committee. Hamza and members of the management committee were strictly following all the Covid-19 regulations imposed by the government and the Waqf Board had also been adhering to the regulations since the day they were imposed.
