Bengaluru, Sep 21: "Because of the fear about its scandals coming out into the open, the state government plans to cut short the legislature session to just three days. But we are determined not to allow that to happen," said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, D K Shivakumar.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, September 20, he said that chief minister Yediyurappa had called him and Siddaramaiah over the phone with a proposal to curtail the current session to just three days in view of the coronavirus situation. He asserted that he and his party leaders are determined not to allow to cut the session short.
"We need to discuss issues like drought, flood, law and order situation which have vitiated in the state. The central government is not paying its share of compensation which it is expected to pay. All these things need to be discussed in detail. We do not approve of the corrupt practices of the government. The government is trying to finish democracy. We will ask them to continue the session for some more days. If the session is held, their corruption gets exposed. As they are in a bind, they do not want to hold the session," he explained.
