New Delhi, Oct 23 (IANS): The Delhi Police have traced one of the three boys who went missing three years ago through the face recognition system of an e-Beat Book.

The boy had gone missing along with two others in November 2017 from the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Delhi where he went for a Children's Day programme. The three children were a part of group of 54 from the Phulwari Bal Sudhar Grah in Alipur, Delhi.

The police checked the relevant records of the Phulwari Bal Sudhar Grah, and it came to their notice that the missing child was involved in a criminal case in Bharat Nagar, Delhi, and his address was located to Anand Parbat, Delhi.

Thereafter, a search operation was launched but the child could not be traced. On scrutiny of the said case file, the address of a co-accused in the case was disclosed as Kabir Nagar, Rana Pratap Bagh, Delhi. It was also found that the co-accused was still in judicial custody.

His address was verified but no clue was found about the missing child. It became clear that the missing child had a criminal mindset and could be involved in some other case also.

"The photograph of the missing child was uploaded on the e-Beat Book through face recognition system and during analysis, it was found that one minor (now major) having the same description was in judicial custody in a criminal case. The missing child and his father's names also matched," said Eish Singhal, DCP, New Delhi.

Efforts are in place to search the remaining two missing children.
