Mangaluru, Oct 26: The monthly chapter meeting of the Indian Society of Training and Development - Mangaluru / Udupi Chapter was held on October 23, on the Zoom platform at 6 pm on Friday October 23. The meeting included a panel discussion on entrepreneurship entitled 'The Path Less Taken'.
The panelists consisted of local entrepreneurs who shared their experiences and their reasons for taking the less trodden path of entrepreneurship, a dimension of the economy that has received renewed interest in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that has reshaped the job market quite extensively.
The panellists included Gopalkrishna Baliga, proprietor of Power Mate, Michelle Pinto, co-founder and COO of My Road Runner, Naveen Julian Rego, a certified financial analyst, Nayana Shetty, proprietor of My Fitness Hub and Akshay K Paniker, MD of Ankuram Educational Trust.
The panelists described their respective journeys through the entrepreneurship space, starting from ideation to execution and its aftermath. They spoke on the challenges they faced and overcame to make their dreams a reality. They emphasised on stress management and work/life balance.
Moderator, Sapna Shenoy ensured smooth conduct of the discussion with her insightful leads and warmth, which facilitated excellent participation from both the audience and the panelists. The moderator and the panelists were introduced by Manisha Suvarna and Vani Umakka.
The session was followed by an interactive session with the members, which was curated by Shivani Baliga, committee member in charge of training.
The meeting was chaired by secretary Preetham Kamath. Chairperson Niveditha Mirajkar welcomed the virtual gathering and apprised the members of the commencement of the Diploma Programme in January 2021.
The PG Diploma Programme in training and development is an 18 month correspondence programme recognized by the ministry of HRD, Government of India. The vice-chairperson, Dr Malini Hebbar is in charge of the Diploma Programme at the Mangaluru / Udupi Chapter.
The treasurer, Balachandra Achar gave the treasurers' report. The managing committee member, Divyashri Gatti who oversaw the compilation of the results of the membership survey presented her findings on the expectation and needs of the members.
