Bantwal: Carmel College Modankap NSS unit hold webinar on breast cancer

Bantwal, Nov 3: Carmel College Modankap, here, Government of Karnataka, department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, state NSS Cell in association with Indian Society organised a state-level webinar on breast cancer awareness on the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The resource person, Dr Chethana, manager of Cancer Screening Indian Cancer Society Bengaluru delivered a lecture on breast cancer, its early symptoms and method of self-examination among women. She also gave detailed information about the tests available at present for diagnosis and also about free cancer helpline. Dr Poornima Jogi, state NSS officer, in her address highlighted the importance of awareness about breast cancer among youth. Madhura K, NSS programme officer at Carmel College Modankap, hosted this programme. Deepthi, assistant NSS officer proposed the vote of thanks. Members of the Indian Cancer Society were present. Shaila Lobo, regional operations manager of Indian Cancer Society and Dr Nagarathna K A, the NSS programme coordinator of Mangalore University provided guidance.

Nearly 100 women were benefited by the programme.
