Beltangady, Nov 7: In a strange incident which happened at Tenkakarandoor, Venoor in the taluk, a married man had gone missing after allegedly kidnapping a girl. Following her husband's disappearance, the wife too went missing and a complaint was registered in Venoor police station on Friday November 6.
The lady who went missing happens to be Asha Vaddar (28), resident of Shivalingappa extension in Holalkere taluk, Chitradurga district. Her current residence was Kattemane House, Tenkakarandoor.
Asha had married Venkatesh from Ellavatti village, Hangal taluk in Haveri district, ten years ago. The couple has four daughters. Both worked as coolies at Nala in Beltangady taluk. During the period he worked as coolie at Nala, it is said, Venkatesh got attracted to a lady labourer who was working there and kidnapped her. A complaint about this incident has been registered in Uppinangady police station.
Thereafter, Asha Vaddar left job at Nala and started to live in a rented house at Katte in Tenkakarandoor village with her children. She used to work for a hotel there. On October 31, she left home, duly telling her daughters that she would be back after visiting Guruvayanakere. But she did not return, and her mobile phone has been swithed off. The girls have become orphans without the trace of their parents.
