Mangaluru, Dec 3: The post graduate department of chemistry of St Agnes College had organised a 'Chem Aura - The Department Association,' inaugural programme on November 30. The main purpose of this event was to create more flexilibility in the field of chemistry among students. Dr Ekta Khosla principal, DAV College, Malout, Punjab, was present as the chief guest and speaker for the day. Principal Sr Dr M Venissa A C and Sr Dr Vinora AC ,the PG coordinator was also present for the event. The programme started by seeking the blessings of God. Sr Gloria D’souza assistant professor, department of chemistry, digitally welcomed all. Later, students of second MSc chemistry welcomed everyone innovatively in the form of dance by describing the dos and donts, one must follow inside the lab. Later, the introduction of Chem Aura members was done by Sowmya Samuel secretary of Chem Aura. It was followed by action plan for Chem Aura for year 2020 that was read by Aparna P R president, Chem Aura Association.
Sr Dr M Venissa A C principal, St Agnes College gave the presidential address. The introduction of the guest was done by Dr Geetha M Pinto, HOD of PG chemistry. It was followed by a lecture session from Dr Ekta Khosla. She shared her knowledge and mainly focused on development of personal skills and sector skills. Then she made students realise how chemistry students unknowingly develop the above skills which are required in their daily life. The audience included, the students from UG and PG chemistry department. The programme ended by a vote of thanks by Dr Sapna Kumari M, convener of Chem Aura Association.
