Udupi: Fire mishap at Robosoft Technologies - Goods worth Rs 60 lac gutted

Udupi, Dec 12: In a fire mishap that occurred in Robosoft Technologies at Santhekatte near here, after midnight on Friday December 11, goods worth Rs 60 lac including computers, furniture and interiors were gutted.

This information was shared with Daijiworld by the fire service personnel. The fire was noticed at 12.45 am by the company guards who were on duty and they informed the fire service immediately.

According to the guards on duty, an electric short circuit in the server room that is in the underground might have caused the fire. There were switchrooms on the first and second floors with computers. As there was no proper ventilation, the smoke had spread to the third floor also.

As smoke had filled the whole building, fire service personnel could not find out the source of the fire. But they were able to put off the fire. Chief fire officer has arrived from Mangaluru to conduct spot inspection. It is said that the loss is more than Rs 60 lac.

    There are electrical and fire safety auditors. It is the responsibility of the facility owners to get the audit done every year to protect their property by and not fore department. The companies try to save meagre amount by not conducting Audit.They think the gadjet will take care. Physical inspection is a must.
    The insurance companies also never insist on Safety Audit inspite of daily occurance of fire in India ,due to short circuit. Some times back there was a fire in PMs office also.

    Mistake from Fire Department , Every Building must be inspected Periodically, , when they construct big buildings Fire officers must certify.
    But Bribe , corruption is the Main Problem in our Country.
