Bangalore, Jun 10: The international pop gig, ‘AKCENT Live in Bangalore’, which was eagerly awaited by the enthusiastic audience from the city, was presented here on Saturday, June 5 at OPUS in the Creek, Brookefields. The turnout was a whopping 700, with the crowd pouring in even just before AKCENT could take stage.
The event was opened by the city’s favourite DJ, Hussain, and Mangalore-based DJ, Yogi, both of whom did a marvellous job by setting the tempo for the night.
The audiences, mostly college-goers, were ecstatic to see their favourite pop stars performing in front of their eyes, for the first time in the city as part of their India Tour - 2010.
AKCENT opened their gig by performing ‘That’s My Name’, which was recently awarded with the ‘Best Song’ title in the recently-concluded Balkan Music Awards 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria. This song is very popular among regular club-goers in India.
The play list continued with popular numbers, where the audience too joined in to sing along with the artistes. The night started at around 6 pm, and went on till 11.30 pm, keeping up the same tempo and excitement from the beginning till the end.
The artistes, Adrian, Mihai and Sorin from AKCENT said, they were very delighted to perform to the Bangalorean audience, because of the fact that the audiences here are very interactive and lively.
The fans mobbed the green room area in large numbers, to get autographs from, and get photographed with, or even just to have a glimpse of their favourite pop stars.
The event had interesting fillers like ‘Beat Boxers’ and ‘Free Stylers’ outsourced by Talent Partner Desitara.com, and the show was compered by MC Vikhar.
However, the icing on the cake that came as a surprise for the organizers, ‘ADVENTURE’, was that a majority of the turnout was from Mangalore, with over 150 young Mangaloreans travelling all over to the state capital just to take part in this show!
The event concluded with DJ Yogi playing the closing set.
The organizers, ‘ADVENTURE’, said this was the biggest international party they had experienced so far, and asserted that it would not end here. They have promised that there will be many more international gigs lined up in the city in the coming months.
Daijiworld.com was the ‘Official Online Partner’ for the event.
