Dubai: Vikyath Poojary Wins UAE Finals of Boogie Woogie

Dubai, Jun 14: Vikyath Poojary and Pranav Pradeep emerged winners at the UAE finals of Boogie Woogie international competition held at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium of the Indian High School here recently.
TeleLIFE, the entertainment and lifestyle magazine from Sony Entertainment Television organized the event.
Top Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan was the guest judge. She had to select a winner each from the junior (age six to 13) and senior (age 14 to 21) levels, who would then be taken to Chicago, on an all expenses paid trip for the finals in July this year..
A total of 29 candidates (15 in senior category and 14 in junior category) – whittled down from an initial number of around 700 – participated in the finals.
Two Mangaloreans,Vikyath Poojary and Gavin Joshua Rodrigues were qualified for the finals. Vikyath's parents hail from Karkala and he was pursuing his studies in Mumbai until recently. Gavin Joshua's parents are from Mangalore and he was also the finalist of Boogie Woogie UAE finals, junior category last year.

The main sponsors of the event was Star Juices. Entertaining performances were also put up by Manzil, Gurukul, Anoop and Shruti who represented the Skyline College, Dubai.
