Mangalore, Jun 14: With the intensifying monsoon, the ever susceptible sea shores in Ullal area here have once again begun to feel the heat of sea erosion.

With heavy down pour all over the coast since about a week, the sea has become turbulent. Sea erosion has been reported in areas such as Kotepura and Mukkacheri among others. In these areas many of the houses are in the brink of being washed away.

Meanwhile, district in-charge minister has said that the problem of sea erosion will see a permanent solution after state cabinet gives a nod for the release of first phase of fund of Rs 223 crores out of the total of Rs 911 crore under Asian Development Bank (ADB) proposal. But the works aimed at providing permanent solution to the sea erosion will only begin in November.

Very often quite a few childish comments and reactions are sent to Daijiworld over a news article. We need to be little more mature when we post such comments and reactions. Daijiworld is visited not only by Mangalorians but even by people worldwide. It is not only read by ORDINARY PEOPLE like NCM Prabhu, Kirem/Dubai, but also by the elite. Please write and send sensible comments and reactions for the growth of one's mind and for the benefit of common man. Besides, every one requires to read the comments and reactions and understand the mentality of the commenter. Maria/Israel has completely misunderstood the comment of NCM Prabhu. He is just making fun of Mutalik over his allegations in the case of Nityanand Swami. NCM, you need to be little more mature and educated.

it is sad to see how for every problem religion is dragged into the scenario. if you feel that christian powers have created huge waves why not call on your powers to bring them down. This attitude of us indians will lead us nowhere except in fights. It was this attitude of ours that led to the british rule in India. History will be forced to repeat itself unless we learn from our mistakes. Why dont we all join hands together as brothers and sisters and live in peace and harmony.the mangalore aircrash tragedy proves that we have these qualities. God Bless you and your family.

The Politicians, I mean the good for nothing crooks should be beaten and chased away from their picnic visits (nocturnal) and allowed back after any real ground work is done. Get up you people, if not you will be chased away by the rough seas before anything is done

Why are our ministers issuing such useless statements? Palemar was around last year what did he do b/w then and now - nothing. Why issue a statement? Roads in Mangalore are like paddy fields - all sanctioned money is improving economic life of our politicians but as someone in his comment pointed out WE are fools to be quite and listen to these stupid statments. Mangalore has been ruined of recent by this government - sad state of affairs.

We can surely modify the old saying now to read "politicians of every party can fool all the people (of Mangalore)all the time" because we are the "Buddhivantharu" (smart asses).

What a load of rubbish (I mean rocks) on the beach !!

Every year this is a drama, everybody knows clearly this problem cannot be solved what ever did for this that is waste of money. If we think ourselves the root of this problem answer is with us only we destoyed hills, we filled the rivers with muds, and we are unbalancing the earth which causes the problem. Stop doing this grow the trees in beaches that will protect the land with further erosion. Shift the people who are suffering from this make the alternative arrangements. Pass the strict rule to avoid the enchrochment of the land in beaches.
