Mangalore, Jun 14:
Three modern ferry boats were inaugurated by district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar at Bengre here on Monday June 14.

‘Janani Ganga’, ‘Kumaradhara’ and ‘Netravati’ are the three modern boats constructed under Bengre Mahajana Sabha which can sustain any kind of roughness in rivers. The boats that are quite sturdy and bigger has proven to be a boon to the people of the area for they can travel fearlessly in the river this monsoon.

Bengre is an island between Netravati river and Arabian sea here wherein the people have to cross the river with the small ferry boats to reach the city.

The concerned should make sure they are equipped with adequate safety measures to address any potential contingencies. We need to be pro-active in view of the risks involved. Overall its a very good initiative and of great help to large no. of commuters.
