Mangalore: Tina D’Souza Elected President of St Agnes College

Mangalore, Jun 19: Tina Patricia D’Souza, a talented final year Bcom student of St Agnes College (autonomous) was elected as student college president for the academic year 2010-11.
Tina won by a margin of 207 votes defeating her co-contestant Anjali Rai. The election was held on the college campus, recently.
Tina has held many leadership posts throughout her scholastic life, including the post of president of St Agnes PU College. She was a student of St Theresa’s School and has always been an exceptionally bright student. She is also an active member of Toastmasters International. She has participated in and won many debates, elocutions and essay competitions both at the state and national level.
Tina will be assisted by the four vice-presidents of the various faculties who have been elected by the student body. The vice-presidents are Yulia D’Souza for commerce, Jennifer D’Souza for arts, Carol Andrade for science and Munita Veigas for the BBM streams respectively.
All five student representatives are eagerly looking forward to an exciting year filled with new activities and ideas which they wish to implement. As cited in the election campaign, the students believe that “hand in hand, we move ahead”.
The official inaugural of the newly elected student council will be held on July 10.
