Udupi, Jun 22:
The felicitation function of newly-elected BJP members of Gram Panchayats (GPs) from across the district and party activists’ meet was held at Hotel Kidiyoor Sheshashayana Auditorium here on Tuesday June 22.

BJP state president K S Eshwarappa inaugurated the party activists’ meet and also presented certificates to the newly-elected BJP members.

Speaking on the occasion, K S Eshwarappa said that BJP led state administration under the able leadership of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will complete the remaining three years smoothly. No opposition parties can cause any hindrance in this regard, he said adding that with the completion of one full term, BJP can brace up to face the fresh elections with utmost confidence.

Eshwarappa said that JD (S) supremo Deve Gowda and state opposition leader Siddaramaiah have tried to garner the support of farmers against the recently held investors’ meet in the state capital. Although the BBMP assured land to farmers after acquiring the necessary land related to Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE), Deve Gowda spruced up the farmers against the development works. The state opposition and AHINDA leader Siddaramaiah was not successful to get the support of backward classes in the last elections, added Eshwarappa.

BJP district president Uday Kumar Shetty presided. MPs Sadanand Gowda, B Y Raghavendra and Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Raghupati Bhat and Lalaji R Mendon, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, state BJP youth morcha president Sunil Kumar, BJP leaders A G Kodgi, Monappa Bhandary, Sulochana Bhat, Kuthyar Navin Shetty, Pranaya Kumar Shetty, Manohar Kalmady, Ratnakar Shetty, Herga Dinakar Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty, Vasant Shetty and Yashpal Suvarna were present.

A large number of BJP party activists attended the meet.
