Mangaluru, Feb 4: The carcass of a huge fish was found at Mogaveerapatna seashore on Thursday February 4. Locals said that the carcass of the fish resembling a whale is of giant porpoise.
The fish was about ten feet long and weighed more than a tonne. People gathered in large numbers to see the fish. The fish was not decomposed. A crane was required to bury it.
As the fish was likely to stink if left at the spot, locals pushed it back into the sea.
Though the team of scientists arrived from Fisheries University in Mangaluru to identify its variety, it was already pushed back into the sea.
