Mangalore: Mogaveera Community Seeks Public Apology from Bajrang Dal Over Mariamma Temple Incident

Mangalore, Jun 23: The Mogaveera community condemns the act of Bajrang Dal activists who had forcibly entered the premises of Sri Mariamma temple, Urwa Market, here on Monday June 21, and threatened the temple trustees and temple celebrants over a dispute on the legitimate plot of land that is located on east of temple.
The veteran leaders of Mogaveera community alleged that the dispute over the plot has been already peacefully resolved with the temple trustees and Yelupatna Mogaveera Samyukta Sabha, while the interference of any communal forces in the temple affairs will not be tolerated by the community, they alleged.
The Mogaveera community has now sought public apology from Bajrang Dal activists for their demeaning act that has caused anguish in the entire community which has been known for peaceful co-existence among the people of diverse culture and religions in the society.
Sri Mariamma temple managing trustee Devdas Putran, Yelupatna Mogaveer Samyukta Sabha chairman Yadav Salian, veteran Mogaveera leaders Satish Baikampady, Gangadhar Hosabettu and Pundalik Hosabettu among others were present at the press meet.
