Mangalore: Sign of Truce – Puranik Led Bajrangis Apologize to Mogaveeras

Mangalore, Jun 25: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) divisional president M B Puranik led the Bajrang Dal activists to seek public-apology with the Mogaveera brethrens at Mariamma temple here on Friday June 25.
Speaking to media persons, Mariamma temple trustee Devdas Putran said that Puranik from VHP has apologized in front of the temple and it’s our duty to forgive for mistakes are done by humans.
Though the organization has filed a case under section 506 against me, we as a community will forgive the members involved in the incident. The issue is an example that any organization that opposes the Mogaveeras will have to pay heavily, he added.

He also said that the other prominent people involved in the incident should seek apology at the temple within Tuesday. The key person Ashwin Kumar – corporator of Urwa and a certain Dinnu yet again did not turn up to seek pardon from Mogaveera community.
Mogaveera leader Satish Baikampady said that corporator Ashwin Kumar should have been at the location as the issue is a serious one and cannot be carelessly ignored. He being such a responsible person is answerable, he added.
It may be recalled that a group of Bajrang Dal activists had forcibly entered Mariamma temple, Urwa Market here on Monday June 21 and threatened the managing trustees over the legitimate plot located besides the temple.
Soon the miffed Mogaveera community held a press conference here on Wednesday June 23 demanding a public apology to veteran community leaders by the erring activists at the temple. Following this, only VHP divisional president M B Puranik accompanied a few Bajrang Dal activists engaged in temple incident and apologized calling a press meet later in the day.
Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts’ Mogaveera Mahajan Sabha president Keshav Kundar, Mariamma temple managing trustee Devdas Putran, Ucchila Mahajan Sangh secretary and Hosabettu Mogaveera Sangh president lawyer Gangadhar Hosabettu, temple trustee Janardan, Yuva Vedike president Shobendra Sasihitlu, Baikampady Mogaveera Sabha member Yathish Baikampady and presidents of Elupatna Mogaveera Sangha were present.
Over 500 Mogaveera community members gathered at the venue.
