Mangaluru: Father Mullers organize free hearing screening camp for MESCOM employees

Mangaluru, Mar 4: World Health Organization (WHO) has declared March 3 as world hearing day. In commemoration of the event Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing in association with MESCOM, Mangalore conducted free hearing screening camp for the MESCOM employees and also highlighted the importance of hearing and the prevention of hearing loss.

In honor of the event a brief ceremony was conducted in MESCOM, Kavoor premises. Kishore Kumar Puttur, director MESCOM officiated the event and in his speech he highlighted the role of audiologists in assessment and management of hearing loss and appreciated the Father Muller Speech and Hearing college and Father Muller Medical College Hospital Team for the initiative in conducting free hearing camp and requested to organize many hearing screening camp for all the MESCOM employees in different part of Dakshina Kannada district.



The guest of honor Manjappa, superintending engineer, MESCOM emphasized the need for hearing test as a part routine health check up and also the importance of normal hearing for the field workers in MESCOM. The other dignitaries present on the dais were S A Pushpa, chief engineer, MESCOM, Jagadeesh, controller of accounts, Sathish Naik, office superintendant, Satish, circle DCA, Dr Mahesh BVM, vice principal, FMCOSH, Dr Aju Abraham, assistant professor FMCOSH.

Welcoming the guest and key note address was given by Cynthia Santhmayor, assistant professor, FMCOSH, vote thanks was given by Dr Muthuraj, associate professor, FMCOSH, Jovita Priya Tauro, lecturer, FMCOSH anchored the program.
