Mangaluru, Mar 11: Communist Party of India (CPI) on March 11 staged a stir against the BJP-led union government opposing price hike of petrol and diesel.
Speaking on the occasion, state committee member of CPI, B Shekar said that as the government raised the petrol and diesel prices, the people in the country are suffering.
He said, "The union government through privatization is favouring the capitalists instead of protecting the interests of the poor.
“There are lac of unemployed youth. Now the government is coming forward to privatise the LIC. The new agriculture policies are affecting the food security of the common man,” he said.
He also said that the ruling government at the center has failed to protect the interests of the general public.
The protestors also demanded that the government reduce the price of necessary commodities.
