Bengaluru: Sleaze CD case – Ramesh Jarkiholi grilled for two hours

Bengaluru, May 10: Former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, who is facing a case relating to sleaze CD filed by a lady, was put through medical examination in the government hospital and then interrogated.

The special investigation team officials questioned Jarkiholi at the technical hub, Adugodi here, for two hours. They posed questions to him on the allegations made by the lady who has claimed herself to have become a victim. He was sent back, after asking him to be present for questioning whenever summoned hereafter.

After the lady, who had remained elusive for several days, suddenly appeared before a court and recorded her statement, Jarkiholi had been asked to present himself for questioning before the special investigation team. Jarkiholi had not attended the questioning, citing Covid infection he was suffering from. Thereafter, he had avoided the questioning by claiming to be under treatment, isolation, rest, lockdown etc. But the officials continued to serve him fresh notices. They had assured him that safety measures would be in place when he was questioned.

Recently, the lady had written to the police commissioner, claiming that crores of rupees was being offered to her through her advocates for withdrawing the case and that she was facing pressure. She wanted those bringing pressure on her to be booked. She had said that those claiming to be close to the Jarkiholi family were offering lure running into crores of rupees to withdraw her complaint. She had demanded arrest of Jarkiholi, who she said was trying to escape action in the guise of coronavirus infection.
