Mangaluru: MCC requests public to segregate Covid waste before handing over to civic workers

Mangaluru, May 11: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) in a press release has requested residents to separately hand over Covid waste such as used masks, PPE kits and other bio sanitary waste to the civic workers who come to collect waste from houses.

MCC commissioner stated that the second wave of Coronavirus is spreading rapidly and widely in the corporation limits. “Many of the houses here are being subjected to the home isolation process. The corporation has the huge responsibility of scientifically disposing of the waste that is generated in houses. The cooperation of citizens is necessary to maintain the health of its civic workers and cleanliness staff. Therefore, the residents are requested to join hands with the corporation by separating used masks, PPE kits and bio sanitary waste before handing it over to the workers,” stated the press release.
