Karkala, Jul 2: Rotary Club Manipal's ambitious programme ‘global grant’ project, Community Diabetes Prevention and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Awareness Programme, was inaugurated by Rtn Rajaram Bhat, district governor of Rotary District 3182 on June 28 at Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala.
The main objective of this project is to community Diabetes prevention, treatment, and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) awareness program and health camps. As part of this project, 3 dialysis machines donated to the Hospital. The total worth of this project is Rs 25 lac. In this simple inauguration ceremony, Rtn Dr H Jayagowri, elected governor of Rotary District 3182, Rtn Prashant Hegde, president of Rotary Club Manipal, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent of Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr Bharatesh Adhiraj, former District governor, Dr Shankar Prasad, head of the department of Nephrology, and Dr Ravindra Prabhu, professor department of Nephrology, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr Keerthinath Ballala, chief medical officer, Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala and many Rotarians joined virtually.
Dr Keerthinath Ballala announced that the Nephrology OPD and dialysis facility will start from July 6. This OPD will function every Tuesday and Friday between 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The dialysis facility will be available every day. For more information, can call 9731601149 or 08258 230583.
