Kundapur: Have discussed Harish Bangera issue with external affairs minister - Shobha Karandlaje

Kundapur, Jul 25: Union minister for state for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shobha Karandlaje on Sunday July 25 said that she has discussed with union minister of state for External Affairs V Muraleedharan regarding Harish Bangera.

Pertaining to the case, two brothers were arrested from Moodbidri for allegedly creating a fake account in the name of Harish Bangera. Udupi police have done good work. Shobha had written a letter to the secretary of External Affairs through the home department of Karnataka government and demanded Kamal Pant, then head of intelligence, to increase pace of investigation. After investigation, Interpol officers of Indian government had sent a message to the Interpol of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

In this regard, the Indian government sent a message to the government of Saudi Arabia through Interpol that Harish was innocent. Later, Harish Bangera was shifted to Dammam intelligence jail from central jail. The ministry of external affairs had issued emergency certificate demanding him to realease him soon.

Shobha has expressed that efforts are being continued to bring Bangera to native.

It may be recalled that Harish Bangera hailing from Kundapur, who was working as an AC technician in Dammam, had landed in trouble for allegedly uploading a blasphemous and provocative post on Facebook on December 21, 2019.
